Required meeting for students on Monday, September 18
(parents are welcome to attend)
Important trip details will be shared at this 5:30 p.m. meeting in the Academy Auditorium, and we request all students participating in the trip attend. It is recommended that at least one parent attend as well. Please contact Mrs. Nicholas if you have an unavoidable conflict.
This fall students who are enrolled in high school fine arts electives (music, speech, art) for the 2017-18 school year will have the opportunity to take part in the BJA Fine Arts Tour. High school fine arts faculty and students will enjoy a time of interdisciplinary unity and fellowship.
The 2017 trip will be a five-day/four-night adventure to Washington, DC. With an emphasis on the fine arts venues in our capital city, students will also experience the monuments, the Capitol, museums, and much more. Departure will be at 3:30 pm. on Tuesday, September 26, returning around 10 p.m. on Saturday, September 30. The trip coincides with the SCACS convention, allowing students to miss only a half day of school. Students interested in taking part in this educational excursion should register no later than Friday, August 25, using the form under the Registration link above. |
The non-refundable $75 deposit check or cash is due August 25. The balance will be billed at the time of the trip. The overall cost of the trip will be $425, which includes transportation, lodging, and breakfast. Students will need additional money for two meals each day.
Register early because space is limited. Seniors will be on the senior trip October 2-6, so seniors taking dual-credit courses will already be missing several days of their dual-credit classes. Missing additional days, such as to go on the Fine Arts trip, would normally be very difficult. Students desiring to do both should discuss their particular situations in detail with Dr. White or Miss Freeman before making a decision. |
